About Us
In the aftermath of the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, David McAtee, Tony McDade and other Black Americans, See In Black created a collective of Black photographers to raise funds for five organizations working to dismantle systemic, race-based oppression. Today, SIB is a platform and community that comprises storytellers, artists and documentarians of Black visual narratives. We tell our communities’ stories with intention, respect, nuance and care.
SIB supports our members by:
INVESTING - Supporting exhibitions and sales to showcase our artists’ work, and providing critical resources, including physical studio space
UPLIFTING - Providing educational programming and fostering professional opportunities.
BUILDING COMMUNITY - Facilitating conversations and relationships within our membership through events, talks and mentorship.
